Study Guide: Honor To Harvest

Key Verse

"I thank my God every time I remember you." — Philippians 1:3

Overview

This message calls the church to honor faithful leadership with sincerity and gratitude while embracing the reality that transition is not failure but preparation. Just as Israel stood at the Jordan River ready to step forward in obedience, we are invited to move into a new season with unity, faith, and expectation. The God who began a good work among us is still writing the next chapter of our story.

Discussion Questions

  1. Think of a person who has significantly shaped your faith. What is one specific thing they did that you still carry with you today?
  2. The sermon described several biblical transitions — Moses to Joshua, Elijah to Elisha, John the Baptist to Jesus. What stood out to you about how God uses seasons of change to move His people forward?
  3. Hebrews 13:7 tells us to imitate our leaders' faith, not necessarily their personality or methods. What is the difference, and why does that distinction matter during a leadership transition?
  4. Where in your own life have you mistaken a transition for a loss, only to later recognize it as God's preparation for something new?
  5. The priests in Joshua 3 had to step into the water before it parted. What is one area where God may be calling you to step forward in obedience before you can see the outcome clearly?

This Week's Challenge

Write a brief note, send a message, or make a phone call to someone who has invested in your spiritual growth — express specific, sincere gratitude for the way their faithfulness impacted your life.

Prayer Focus

Ask God to knit your group and church together in unity, humility, and expectation as you step forward in faith into the next season He has prepared.
