Study Guide: Evangelism

Key Verse

Ecclesiastes 3:1 — "There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens."

Overview

This message explores how God has entrusted each of us with the same 24 hours in a day, and how we choose to use that time directly shapes the quality, joy, and impact of our lives. The sermon challenges us to examine the distractions, stress, and overcommitment that pull us away from what God has truly called us to do. Ultimately, we are invited to align our time with God's purposes — including the vital calling to witness and minister to those around us.

Discussion Questions

  1. Think about a typical weekday. What activity or habit consumes more of your time than you'd like to admit?
  2. The sermon described people who are "stressed out, overcommitted, and spread too thinly." Did any part of that description resonate with you? What stood out most from the message?
  3. If time is our most precious and irreplaceable resource, what does it say about our priorities when evangelism and witness consistently get pushed to the bottom of our schedules?
  4. What specific distractions — whether a phone, a packed schedule, or personal anxiety — are currently keeping you from sharing your faith with the people in your life?
  5. What is one relationship in your life right now where you could intentionally invest time this week for the sake of the Gospel?

This Week's Challenge

Identify one person in your life who does not know Jesus, write their name down, and commit to spending intentional, unhurried time with them this week — whether through a conversation, a meal, or a simple act of care.

Prayer Focus

Ask God to help your group surrender the distraction and busyness that steals time from His purposes, and to grant each member the courage and clarity to use their days for His glory and the good of those who haven't yet heard the Gospel.
